Working Principle of PTR016V0155-TR

PTR016V0155-TR is an automatically resettable fuse. It is composed of thermal-sensitive elements, a driving element (rivet), a terminal element (electrical contact strips) and some other related parts. The thermal-sensitive element is made of a nickel-chrome alloy. When current passes through this element, it generates heat and makes the alloy become soft. The force that the alloy recovers its original state after being softened, together with the action of driving elements, moves the electrical contact strips to release the contact and disrupt the electricity conduction. When the fuse’s temperature cools down, the alloy will recover its shape and also drive the contact strips back to the original state, the electricity conduction is thus re-established.

In a nutshell, PTR016V0155-TR works in a simple way – it trips itself when current exceeds the predetermined charge and resets when the current falls below the pre-set safety limit. It is therefore considered as an ideal fuse for protecting electronic circuits from damage or dangers of excessive current, short circuiting and scorching.
