PV71W12-8P L/C, also known as pulse-width modulation (PWM) half-bridge enable/disable control type, is a three-terminal power electronic switch module used as a high-power switch in many electric components. This device has a wide range of applications in power supplies, uninterruptable power supplies, motor control systems, motor drives, controllers, motor management systems, and various other consumer appliances.

The main feature of PV71W12-8P L/C is its ability to provide reliable and fast switching of high power loads, even under switch-off conditions. This can be achieved through its PWM-driven half-bridge. Unlike traditional on/off type devices, the PWM-driven half-bridge enable/disable switch is much more efficient in terms of switching the full load. The half-bridge also provides better protection against short circuit and overload during operation.

PV71W12-8P L/C has two voltage ranges, which are the logic inputs between 8V and 30V, and the output volts ranging from 40V to 50V. The logic high state is enabled by the PWM-driven half bridge to drive the load. When the logic low, or power off state is enabled, the load is disconnected from the device. The switching speed of the device is dependant on the gate threshold voltage and the frequency of the PWM waveform applied.

The device is designed to achieve small and fast switching times, and it includes soft-start switching technology, which ensures that no overshoot transients occur during the power-on state. This ensures the proper operation of the motor without momentarily high currents. The device also features on-chip dynamic braking of the motor and it can withstand up to 80A of continuous current. This makes it suitable for high-power and demanding applications.

The device works by providing a control signal to the PWM-driven half bridge, which in turn provides a voltage signal to the load. Depending on the control signal, the half-bridge will either enable or disable the load. This enables the user to control the power provided to the load.
