The input stage essentially consists of a transformer and two switching MOSFETS Q1 & Q2. MOSFET Q1 is used to connect the input voltage to the primary of the transformer while MOSFET Q2 is used to disconnect and reset the primary winding. The primary winding inductor is charged and discharged to deliver the DC energy stored in it. As the primary winding inductor is energized, energy is transferred to the secondary winding of the transformer and stored in the capacitors connected across the output stage.

When the power is applied at the input, MOSFET Q1 is turned on and the primary winding of the transformer is energized. As the primary winding inductor is charged and discharged, voltage is induced into the secondary windings resulting in the energy being transferred to the output stage.

The output stage consists of two power MOSFETs Q3 & Q4. The two MOSFETs are configured in a Half bridge rectification structure. In this configuration, MOSFET Q3 is turned on while MOSFET Q4 is turned off to form a conductive path from the rectifier to the output. The current passing through the MOSFETs is used to charge the output capacitors which ensures the output voltage is duly regulated.
