Thyristors - TRIACs
Thyristors are components used for switching or controlling electricity. Thyristors are made up of three or four layers of alternate types of semiconducting materials. The major types of thyristors are: thyratrons, rectifiers, TRIACs, Unijunction Transistor (UJT), Silicon Control Rectifier (SCR), and bidirectional semiconductor switch. The working principle of Q2035NH5TP is based on the fact that when gate current is applied, it creates a conducting path between anode and cathode terminals, enabling electricity to flow through it. When the gate current is removed, the conducting path is also removed, and the TRIAC is turned off. This process is applicable both in forward and reverse bias. The only difference between the two is that in forward bias, the gate current is applied from anode to cathode and in reverse bias, it is applied from cathode to anode.
