QH08TZ600 single rectifier is a two-terminal device which allows an electric current to flow through in one direction while blocking it in the other. It is made up of two semiconductive materials – one is a relatively thin layer of P-type semiconductor, and the other is a thin layer of N-type semiconductor. This combination is called P-N junction.When the diode is connected to a positive voltage source, holes from the P-type semiconductor material diffuse into the N-type material, creating a P-N junction. This creates an electric field that pushes the electrons away from the junction and attracts the positive charges. This forms a barrier which blocks the further movement of electrons from the junction and allows electric current to flow in one direction only.This same action happens when the diode is connected to a negative voltage source, but in this case the electrons are pushed away from the junction and the positive charges are attracted. This also creates a barrier which blocks the current flow in the opposite direction.Therefore, when the QH08TZ600 diode is connected in a circuit, the current would flow through the diode in one direction only.
