The QS3126QG is a product within the extensive family of logic and signal switch suites offered by Quality Semiconductor. These product suites offer solutions to design challenges related to the connectivity of logic signals which are essential components to various designs. The QS3126QG is a quad SPDT switch, with multiplexing and decoding features, that is particularly suitable for use in multiplexing and decoding applications in the fields of communications, computing, consumer, and industrial power control systems.The QS3126QG has two modes of operation: single-ended, as well as differential. In both modes of operation, the QS3126QG switch is able to switch logic levels from digital logic chips. In single-ended applications, the switch can pass logic levels from logic chips with minimum offset while in differential mode, the switch can pass logic levels between digital logic chips with minimum common-mode noise.The switching function of the QS3126QG is based on the CMOS transmission gate structure. The on-resistance of the switch is low which allows for fast switching speed and the signal integrity of the signal is maintained. The switch has both CMOS and TTL compatible inputs and employs an ESD protection scheme for added reliability. Also, when the signal is on, leakage current is very minimal which allows the switch to perform well in battery operated applications.The multiplexing and decoding functionality of the QS3126QG makes it particularly useful in many applications. As a multiplexer, it is perfect for applications where data needs to be shared between two different circuits at different speeds or for switching multiple signals between multiple circuits with the same speed. The decoding function is effective in applications where there is a need to convert multiple input signals to one single output signal. These features allow the switch to be used effectively in the aforementioned industries and more.In addition, the QS3126QG switch also has a shutdown pin which is enabled by a logic low level. When this pin is used, the switch can be effectively enabled by either the multiplexed pin or the decode pin, eliminating undesired switching. Furthermore, the QS3126QG switch employs an on-resistance matching technology which allows the individual switch channels to be perfectly matched, minimizing any glitches due to mismatched on-resistance.In summary, the QS3126QG is a versatile switch which combines multiplexing, decoding, and logic switching capabilities all in one chip.
