Working Principle

R5F1008DALA#U0 is based on the basic Renesas 8-bit architecture which is widely used for small embedded controllers. The controller operates with a RISC architecture and has 8 x 16-bit instructions. It features a total of 128KB of flash memory, 8KB as internal RAM and up to 4KB external RAM support. It can run programs from internal flash memory or from external EEPROM.

The controller has two 16-bit timers and one 8-bit timer with various selection modes. The 8-bit timer is used for pulse width modulation and for generating baud rate for serial link devices.
