The ARM v7-R application instruction set provides an efficient instruction set for embedded applications, and the Advanced SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) instruction set accelerates media processing, image processing and data manipulation. In addition, the processor supports Advanced eXtensible Interface (AXI) protocol which enables connection of multiple master and slave peripherals to the processor cores.The R5F10RB8AFP#V0 microcontroller offers a wide range of peripheral functions. These include two 8-bit I/O ports, a serial communications unit (SCU), a real-time clock (RTC), an event capture unit (ECU), a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a power management unit (PMU). The I/O ports are configurable as either general-purpose I/O (GPIO) or analog input/output (AIO). The SCU is used for serial communication, and it supports both UART and I2C protocols. The RTC provides a time reference for application tasks. The ECU can be used for capturing industry-standard input signals, such as DIN and PWM signals.
