R6201830XXOO Single Rectifiers

R6201830XXOO single rectifiers belong to a class of diodes used to convert alternating current (AC) input to direct current (DC) output by rectifying an AC waveform. Working Principle

A single bridge rectifier consists of four single diodes, which convert the AC voltage to rectified DC voltage. First, the four diodes are connected with an external capacitor, then the alternating AC current is applied to the rectifier bridge from the AC power supply and theexternal capacitor is used to filter it. When the voltage received from the AC is greater than the reverse breakdown voltage of the diode, current can flow through the diode, otherwise the current flow our of the diode is blocked. The waveform of the AC input and the DC output of the bridge rectifier is shown in Fig.1. In the figure it is shown inwaveform that when the AC voltage is positive the first and fourth diodes are forward biased and conducts current. When the AC waveform is negative, the second and thirds diodes are forward biased and conducts current. Finally, when the waveform reached 0V, all the four diodes are reversed biased and blocks the current flow and the waveform shows the pulsating DC output.

Furthermore, the R6201830XXOO single rectifier is also capable of supplying regulated outputs voltages which is useful in certain power supply applications. It is able to convert a input voltage of 110V AC to aregulated output of 12V DC or other output voltages by using potential dividers for different applications.
