Of these, REF3033AIDBZR, which belongs to the PMIC (power management integrated circuit) voltage reference, is widely used in the industry. The following is an introduction to the application field and working principle of REF3033AIDBZR.REF3033AIDBZR is an improved and enhanced version of the original REF3033 voltage reference. It utilizes a 2-terminal E-Trim bandgap reference circuit, accurately trimmed and optimally adjusted to provide an initial accuracy of 0.04% and an output voltage of 2.5V±2mV. This ensures a very low output voltage drift over wide temperatures ranges of -40°C to +105°C and an output voltage stability of 2μV/VV for high-precision applications.The application fields of the REF3033AIDBZR include high accuracy instrumentation and precision analog-to-digital signal conversions. It can be configured as a low power, high accuracy reference for many signal processing instrumentation and signal acquisition systems. Additionally, its high accuracy, low power consumption and excellent temperature compensation make REF3033AIDBZR suitable as the reference voltage source for many standard and non-standard measurement systems.The working principle of REF3033AIDBZR is based on the principle of special junction thermal voltage stabilization. The core of the bandgap reference circuit is usually composed of two transistors, a PNP and an NPN, connected in the form of a current mirror. When the transistor is biased, a certain base current flows in the transistor, and then a bandgap voltage is generated between the two transistors, which is equal to the sum of the temperature coefficient of the two which are of opposite sign. This temperature coefficient is typically around -2.2mV/°C. The generated bandgap voltage remains constant with temperature and this technology is used to adjust the output voltage.The output voltage of the REF3033AIDBZR is subject to excessive current on the output terminal. To prevent this, the IC includes an on-chip overcurrent protection circuit. The overcurrent protection circuit uses a master slave discretization technique to detect the overcurrent condition and reduce the output when an overcurrent condition is detected. Other integrated features include an on-chip 0.9V low-power reference, an on-chip 200Ω resistor divider with an adjustable output voltage, and an optional output capacitor.In conclusion, the REF3033AIDBZR is a high precision voltage reference with excellent stability, accuracy, temperature compensation and low power consumption, which is suitable for various high-precision instrumentation and analog-to-digital signal conversion. Therefore, its application fields are very wide, and its working principle is also very complex and interesting.
