The RFPD3540 is a monolithic dual-channel GaN RF power modules providing integrated RF matching networks to make design easier and faster. It is housed in a RoHS compliant 6L-CSP package, making it small and reliable for GPS, LTE, WiMAX, WCDMA, and other communication radio frequency (RF) applications. The RFPD3540 is a part of the Amplifier Technology family of video amps and modules.

The RFPD3540 application fields cover the whole range of base station applications in 3G, 4G, and 5G cellular/mobile networks due to its low power consumption, high efficiency, and sophisticated GaN technology. When working, the RFPD3540 operates from a single +24V supplly. Its RF input power is measured in a rated range from -30 dBm to 0 dBm and the RF output power is measured in a rated range from 18 dBm to 40 dBm. It features excellent power efficiency up to 81%, with a harmonic performance of 48 dBc exhaustible amplifier signal to noise ratio of better than 50 dBm, and distortion cancellation of better than -65 dB. The full bandwidth of the amplifier is 40 MHz.

The RFPD3540 has a unique feature of immediate power ramp-up when the DC supply is applied. This provides improved reliability in high power applications, since the module will be able to power up rapidly and minimize the possibility of an excessive inrush current and damages to the adjacent components or the module itself. It also has a wide temperature operating range from -40°C to +85°C, making it suitable for extreme temperature operation.

For monitoring, the RFPD3540 features a temperature detector and a logic enabled pin to protect the module in case of over-temperature conditions. The module also sports a latching circuit which is triggered by a negative to positive voltage transition on each pin. An external resistor can be connected to the latching circuit which allow users to customize the threshold voltage.
