Application Field

RM709730 is designed for application in AC 50/60 Hz circuits up to 660V. This relay can be used in multiple power control and protection applications, such as motor protection, overload protection, motor protective cut-off, short circuit protection, phase failure protection, etc. It can also be used for auxiliary energy conservation, such as staggered start of high-power motors to reduce the power peak caused by motor starting at the same time. The instantaneous current setting and time delay of RM709730 can be adjusted to best fit the application.

Working Principle

RM709730 is a multifunctional power relay with overload/current protection. It senses the current of the system through two current transformer (CT) outputs. When the instantaneous current of the load exceeds the setting level, the current detector output an alarm signal to immediately cut off the power supply; when the load current level continues to exceed the setting value for longer than the set time delay when no alarm signal is outputted, the relay trips and cuts off the line power supply.

The overload/current protection cut-off process of RM709730 is divided into two different stages, instantaneous trip stage and time-delay trip stage. In the instantaneous trip stage, the setup current should not exceed the rated current within a short period of time. If the working current exceeds the set protection current, the protection will be triggered instantly and the power supply will be cut-off. The setting of instantaneous tripping current can be adjusted as desired. In the time-delay trip stage, the overload protection time delay is set to 1-10s. The overload protection time delay of RM709730 is adjustable and independent from the instantaneous tripping current.

Moreover, the coupling of RM709730 is designed to fit 24V, 48V, 110V, 220V, 380V, 440V and 660V motor and other mechanical equipment.
