A RS1PD-E3/85A diode can be classified in the category of single rectifiers. These types of diodes when forward biased, allow electric current to flow through the cathode (anode) to the anode (cathode). However, when a reverse bias is applied to the junction, electric current is blocked from flowing through the junction.
