RT114005 Application Field and Working Principle

Launched in 2020 by the renowned relay manufacturer, RT114005 is a versatile power relay that boasts of an impressive range of features for applications that require high-reliability operation. The RT114005 offers up to 2 Amps of continuous operating current per pole, with a maximum pulse limit of 20A (4x the normal rating). It’s also rated for inductive loads up to 10 million AUH (ampere-turns per hour).

Working Principle of RT114005

RT114005 is based on the principle of electromagnetism - when an electric current flows through a coil, it produces an electromagnetic field which interacts with the contacts contained in the relay.

When the current is applied to the coil, an electromagnetic field is created which acts on the contacts inside the relay. Depending on whether the current flowing is AC or DC, the relay will either open or close the contacts, which in turn will turn on or off any associated circuit.

The RT114005 also contains a number of different features that make it more reliable. It has a short-circuit and overload protection, as well as a built-in thermal fuse which will open the circuit if the temperature becomes too high. It also features a moveable armature, which reduces arcing when switching contacts, and increases operational life.
