The RT7736GGE is an AC/DC converter, an offline switcher, and a PMIC (Power Management IC) developed by the Richtek Technology Company. This power conversion device combines the high efficiency of an AC to DC converter with the excellent power quality performance of an offline switcher.The RT7736GGE is designed to offer greater energy efficiency and lower cost of implementation compared to Linear Regulators, as well as improved control of input power and output voltage. The RT7736GGE is ideal for applications requiring an AC/DC converter and an offline switcher.The RT7736GGE contains a synchronous buck rectifying system, a low dropout (LDO) regulator, and an internal reference circuit, combined with a highly efficient, low RDS (on) MOSFET switch for direct output voltage control. The synchronous buck rectifying system is capable of accepting any AC input between 90-265VAC, 50/60Hz, and is able to rectify the mains voltage with minimal losses.The RT7736GGE has an internal reference circuit which produces a regulated voltage reference signal from the mains supply. This voltage reference signal is used to compare with the output voltage, enabling the buck switching circuit to adjust its peak current for maximum efficiency.The low RDS (on) MOSFET used in the RT7736GGE provides very low losses, resulting in improved efficiency and improved power factor. The low RDS (on) MOSFET also provides fast switching and low noise operation.The RT7736GGE also utilizes a zero count mode operation which enables power to be managed more efficiently when there is no load connected to the output. This is especially advantageous in applications where the load may vary and only a fraction of the total power may be required at certain times.The RT7736GGE is ideal for applications requiring transformerless AC/DC converters, such as PC power supplies, laptop power adapters, and industrial equipment.
