The RT9025-12GSP is an advanced low noise linear voltage regulator that offers high accuracy, low power (quiescent current) and excellent load/line transient performance.

RT9025-12GSP is designed to deliver up to 1A of output current in an ultra-compact 112Pin package. This device integrates a low-noise Operational Amplifier to provide improved load transient performance and ripple rejection for high PSRR performance.

A PWM mode control is also available to allows for additional efficiency. The adjustable output voltage allows the device to be tailored for any output voltage from 0.9V to 13V. The device has built-in overtemperature protection and short-circuit protection.

Working Principle

RT9025-12GSP consists of a low-noise operational amplifier, a reference voltage source, an error amplifier, a low drop voltage regulator, an over-temperature protection comparator and a current limit comparator. It is designed to deliver up to 1A of output current.

1. The reference voltage is applied to the non-inverting input of the error amplifier, which amplifies the voltage difference between the output voltage and reference voltage. This amplified voltage is sent to the base of the low drop voltage regulator.
2. The low drop voltage regulator amplifies the error voltage from the error amplifier, and the output voltage is set by the resistive divider.
3. The current limit comparator senses the output current and shuts down the device if the current limit is exceeded.
4. The over-temperature protection comparator senses the chip temperature and shuts down the device if the temperature limit is exceeded.
