RX5500 RF Receivers
RX5500 is a high-performance bipolar integrated RF receiver that is designed for wireless communication systems operating in the frequency domain of 1GHz. It is developed by the leading RF receiver supplier BC Technologies, Inc., one of the leading providers of RF receiver products for the wireless communication market.
RX5500 is an efficient RF receiver device which can be used in a variety of wireless applications that require accurate reception of wide-band signals. The device features a fast signal acquisition time and can detect signals from wide-band sources like cellular, wireless internet or GPS signals. The integrated design of RX5500 makes it highly compatible with a wide range of frequencies, protocols, and communication formats.
Application Fields
RX5500 can be used as base station receivers, in portable wireless equipment as well as in wireless Automated Meter Reading (AMR) applications. The device can also be used in automotive navigation systems, aerospace and satellite communications, and wideband direct-broadcast television systems.
In cellular communication systems, RX5500 can be used as a base station receiver to capture signals from remote client terminals, and can also be deployed in multi-sector base stations or base-station repeaters. In the field of navigation, the device can be used for satellite or aircraft navigation systems.
Working Principle
The RX5500 utilizes a bipolar, low-noise integrated front end with an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The high-linearity ADC is capable of handling fast signals in the wide-band frequency range, providing a dynamic range of more than 60 dB. The wide-band frequency range of the RX5500 allows for the detection of multiple signals within the same bandwidth.
The bi-polar receiver front-end of the RX5500 includes an SOI CMOS amplifier and a temperature compensated filter circuit. This circuit is designed to reduce microphonic noise interference, while also offering excellent linearity. The amplifier and the filter together provide up to 70 dB of dynamic range with an output signal level of 4.2 Vpp.
The RX5500 is also designed for interfacing with low-noise amplifiers, mixers, and filters to provide maximum flexibility and performance. A high-speed ADC is included for converting analog signals to digital form. The ADC is designed to convert frequency bands from 9 kHz to 1 GHz with a dynamic range of up to 65 dB.
The RX5500 also provides a receive signal strength indicator (RSSI). This is a digital signal strength indicator that is useful for measuring received signal levels, providing information on the distance of a transmitter or the intensity of a received signal.
Conclusion
The RX5500 is an innovative RF receiver that has applications in various wireless communication systems. It is an integrated device that features a high-linearity ADC and a temperature compensated filter circuit. The receiver is highly compatible with a wide range of frequencies, protocols, and communication formats. Moreover, the device also includes a receive signal strength indicator and provides excellent performance in a wide-band frequency range. The device is suitable for many applications, including cellular communication systems, navigation systems, satellite and aircraft navigation systems, and wideband direct-broadcast television systems.
