PTC Resettable Fuses are composed primarily of a special type of thermistor, also known as a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistor, which is a form of resistor. Generally, PTC Resettable Fuses are also composed of a housing, multiple lead wire connections, and a secure terminal. The application and working principle of RXEF300-2 is discussed below.
RXEF300-2 is a PTC Resettable Fuse designed specifically with the intent of replacing standard fuses. They are often used to protect electronic devices from overloads, due to their ability to independently detect and trip to regulate overloads. This is done through the combination of a thermistor that, when an overload is detected, creates an increase of electrical current which causes the thermistor to heat up, increase its resistance and, ultimately, trip the RXEF300-2. This trip prevents further damage to the device.
The RXEF300-2 also increases the level of safety for any electrical device due to its advanced nature. The PTC thermistor provides a level of accuracy and precision overload protection and, if the device is overcharged, the thermistor will trip to provide additional safety. Another advantage is that the RXEF300-2 has the ability to be reset with just a simple button press. This eliminates the need to replace the fuse every time it trips.
The RXEF300-2 is also extremely reliable. When compared to traditional fuses, the RXEF300-2 has superior performance and is capable of handling much larger currents. This makes them suitable for use in a wide range of applications. Furthermore, the RXEF300-2 has a much more compact construction which allows them to be applied in much tighter spaces. This makes them highly suitable for use in high-density areas.
The RXEF300-2 is an internal fuse which is designed to be used within a host device such as a laptop, router or other similar device. It is often applied in the DC circuit board, providing voltage protection while at the same time its internal resistors provide current protection against overloads. When an overload is detected, the PTC thermistor trips, effectively cutting off the power supply to the device and preventing any further damage. This is why the RXEF300-2 is often applied in the DC circuit board due to its ability to quickly and effectively prevent dangerous electrical load and voltage peaks.
The low contact resistance, fast response time, and unique integrally molded design of RXEF300-2 make this resettable fuse an excellent choice for a variety of applications. Additionally, it offers improved safety features over traditional fuses, including the ability to be reset with the press of a button.
