The RYA50012 is a multi-pole power relay which is able to handle more than 2 amps of power. The device is capable of switching between various AC and DC power sources, and provides a much higher switching speed than a traditional mechanical relay. Working principle

The RYA50012 works on an electromagnetic principle. When electricity flows through its coils, they produce a magnetic field which attracts the contacts of the relay and closes the circuit. When the flow of electricity stops, the magnetic field dissipates and the contacts of the relay open, thus breaking the circuit.The RYA50012 has an ‘active’ and ‘inactive’ state, determined by whether the electrical current is flowing through its coils or not. This allows for a range of different switching patterns. The device has an ‘active’ contact when the current is flowing and an ‘inactive’ contact when the current is not flowing.For increased reliability, the RYA50012 has a screw locking feature which prevents the contacts from bouncing.
