S0981-46R is a flexible, non-metallic, insulating gasket material specifically designed for electrical and RF applications. The material consists of a highly conductive, pliable recycled paper combined with a specifically formulated adhesive and can be supplied in sheet or roll form. It is available in a range of standard sizes, from 12 to 20 mils in thickness, and can also be custom-made to meet specific application requirements.S0981-46R is suitable for use in a variety of radio frequency shielding applications including cellular phones, two-way radios, antennae, and inter-modulation distortion and other RF environments, as well as EMI shielding. It is also suitable as a low-profile pressure contact material for fingerstock and other contact elements.S0981-46R has excellent electrical and shielding characteristics. The material possesses a relatively low dielectric constant of 2.6, making it an ideal choice for environments where a low-profile option is required. Its low loss tangent of .005 also makes it an optimal choice in environments where low signal loss is important. The RF gasket material is self-attaching and self-adhesive and does not require the use of adhesives or other types of fasteners. The material is easily formed with fastener assemblies and is easy to fit due to its superior conformability and flexibility, delivering an effective and reliable seamless seal against EMI and RFI emission. S0981-46R is available with a range of different types of external coatings, including silver, copper, tin, PTFE and conductive polymer. These coatings enhance the shielding and heat dissipation properties of the material and can provide additional protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD).Moreover, S0981-46R has very good thermal stability. The material can withstand temperatures from -281°F to 372°F (-175°C to 190°C).
