Application Field

This product is most commmonly used in applications where a burden such as a motor is connected to the output side. This relay has a low signal sensitivity threshold of 200mV, making it great for controlling small signal input from a large burden. Working Principle

The S216S02F utilizes a photocoupler to detect small signals from the input, offering isolation between the control terminals and the output terminals. This photocoupler consists of two components: an infrared light-emitting diode (LED) and a photosensitive transistor. The LED transmits an output signal, while the photosensitive transistor receives and amplifies the signal. The signal is then sent to the output circuit, which switch on an MOSFET as the output side switch.

The output switch contacts are normally open and are thus energized by a signal at the input. When the signal is removed, the MOSFETs return to non-conducting state, de-energizing the output. The SPDT (Single Pole, Double Throw) form of the S216S02F ensures that when the output switch is released, one of the two output contacts can be selected.
