Working Principle of S40VR
S40VR is a type of single-phase full bridge rectifier which is composed of four diodes connected in series and parallel. When an alternating current (AC) voltage is applied to the bridge rectifier, diodes perform rectification and the output is a pulsating direct current (DC) voltage. The process of rectification involves a series of repetitious half-cycles in which some of the diode or multiple diodes become forward-biased and therefore start to conduct while the other diodes become reverse-biased and therefore they stop conducting. This cycle is repeated as the AC voltage periodically reverses polarity.
The S40VR rectifiers also involve a significant amount of heat loss due to incomplete rectification of the AC signal - this is known as power loss. However, the S40VR rectifiers feature sensitive geometry which renders them more efficient and minimizes power loss to the optimal levels.
