Thyristors are a type of bidirectional semiconductor, with three electrode and two junction configurations. Among the thyristors, the SCR or Silicon-Controlled Rectifier is one of the most widely used due to its high stability, long life and other advantages. The SCR is used in all kinds of applications, including power systems, motor controls, heating and lighting systems, TVs, and many others.

The S4X8ESAP is a new type of SCR, based on silicon carbide (SiC) technology. It has a wider voltage range and a higher thermal gain than traditional SCRs, making it highly suitable for use in applications that require excellent performance, such as lighting control and industrial motor control. It is also ideal for replacing legacy control systems with more modern, reliable and efficient equivalents.
