Thyristors - SCRs is a type of power semiconductor-controlled switch that consists of four layers of alternating P-type and N-type materials and operates as two back-to-back SCRs internally. It has two gates, one cathode and one anode. It acts as a current regulator, using an external current source to control the current level. The S6008DS2RP is a low-cost, intelligent SCR device which mainly used in AC voltage regulation, braking and speed regulation of DC motors, charging pile and home appliance rectifying.The S6008DS2RP is based on advanced MOSFET technology, utilizing low-resistance metal oxide on the gate oxide and silicon substrate to enhance energy efficiency, reduce switching losses and improve operating temperature. The device has a built-in temperature monitoring system and is capable of protection and temperature compensation. It has short-circuit protection, current limit and anti-reverse current protection, making it suitable for powering tractors, cars, trucks, and other automotive applications.In terms of working principle, the S6008DS2RP can be used to regulate the voltage or current of a system by controlling the electrical power that flows through it. When the power supply is applied to the gate of the SCR, a voltage drop is created across the drain and source electrodes, producing an electric field. This causes the rod of the SCR to be accelerated and shifted in the direction of the electric field. As the SCR rod moves, the junction between the drain and source transfers a certain amount of electric charge, thereby regulating the current flow in the system.When the SCR rod is shifted, it bridges the gap between the two terminals of the SCR. This allows the electric charge to pass freely, either increasing or decreasing the current flow through the SCR. The S6008DS2RP provides an advantage over other SCRs, as it can be programmed to provide a wide range of current levels, making it ideal for applications that require multiple current levels.
