Triggering of S6025R

Once the gate signal is turned on and reaches the required minimum gate current trigger level, the S6025R breaks into conducting state and begins to dissipate the power load from the anode to cathode side. This ensures that the normal operating voltage is maintained when the S6025R is conducting.

Operation in AC Control Applications

In an AC control system, S6025R is used to control the voltage and current delivered to the load. The S6025R alters the flow of current through the load by selectively displaying the anode and allowing current to pass. This is used in both AC and DC applications and is mainly used as a phase control thyristor (PCT) in high power industrial motor controls and AC motor starters. S6025R is used in such applications to regulate motor speed and torque, by controlling the output voltage and current delivered to the load.
