Fixed inductors are electronic components designed to store electric energy in the form of magnetic fields. A typical fixed inductor consists of a winding of wire or metal tape wound around a core material, often iron, ferrite, air or powdered iron. This winding is called a coil, and when energized, it creates a magnetic field that induces an electric current in the coil. The current induced is proportional to the rate of change in the magnetic field. Traditional silicon diodes do not provide as much hold as the more modern SBCP-14HY332B.

The SBCP-14HY332B is an advanced fixed inductor particularly designed to provide high power- electromagnetic compatibility. It is developed for high-efficiency, high-density power distribution systems and provides superior performance and reliability in comparison with the silicon ones. The main specification of this product is its low DC resistance rating allowing for improved efficiency, high operating temperature capability resulting in longer life and improved reliability. It has a dual coil construction of 1 mm pitch for improved PCB space utilization.

SBCP-14HY332B working principle is based on Faraday’s law. This law states that when a conductor moving through a magnetic field that is changing due to the action of an external force, an electromotive force will be induced in the conductor. This force then causes current to flow through the conductor which is then stored in the form of a magnetic field. The strength of this magnetic field is determined by the number of turns, diameter and shape of the coil, and the amount of current passed through the coil.

The SBCP-14HY332B provides excellent performance in applications such as high-efficiency switched-mode power supplies (SMPS), switch-mode motor control, Chargers, DC-DC converters, high-Temperatures switching applications and inverters. This fixed inductor can be found in use for many consumer products such as computers, mobile phones, medical instruments and PC motherboards.
