The SBL845 is a single bridge rectifier module, which is part of the SBL8x0, SBL8x5 series from Shown Electronic Technology. It is a 4-terminal device that is specifically designed for dc-to-dc conversion applications.

The SBL845 is an integrated, full bridge rectifier that features low voltage drop, high efficiency, and fast reverse recovery time of 15ns. It is constructed from a field effect transistor (FET) and rectifying chip which works in parallel to provide the desired rectification. Working Principle

The SBL845 bridge rectifier module works by converting AC power into DC power. It do this by using four diodes and a bridge configuration between the two input terminals (A and B) and two output terminals (C and D).

The diodes allow current to flow from the input terminals in one direction (positive or negative) only, and the bridge configuration ensures that the output voltage is always positive. The diodes effectively pass the AC current from the input terminals to the output terminals, but only in the positive direction.

When the input voltage is AC, the output voltage is an average DC voltage that is proportional to the input voltage. The bridge rectifier also provides full-wave rectification, resulting in a smoother output waveform with much less ripple when compared to half-wave rectification.

The SBL845 module is also capable of operating at high temperature and can handle high surge current up to 72A and peak current up to 90A. It provides up to 98% efficiency, with a very low voltage drop of just 0.29 V making it perfect for applications where efficiency is important.
