SBRT3U45SAF-13

The SBRT3U45SAF-13 is a single-phase silicon bridge rectifier with a voltage rating of 200 Volts and a maximum current rating of 3 Amps. It is a full wave bridge rectification device designed for applications requiring very low forward voltage drop, low leakage current and high surge capability.

The SBRT3U45SAF-13 is designed for use in a broad range of applications, including mains and AC-DC power supplies, switched-mode power supplies, as well as DC applications such as battery chargers, LED drivers, and automotive circuits.

Working Principle

A full-wave bridge rectifier circuit is composed of four diodes connected to a AC voltage source and an output load. The diodes are connected in the form of a bridge with each diode along one side of the bridge being opposite its partner diode on the other side. When an AC voltage is applied to the bridge, the diodes conduct current alternately in opposite directions. This produces a unidirectional current that can be used to power a load. Since there is a network of four diodes, the bridge structure does not invert the polarity of the input but instead produces a DC voltage with the same polarity.

When compared to other rectification structures, the full-wave bridge rectifier offers higher efficiency and less power dissipation through the diodes used in the circuit. This is because the diodes are used in active-state switching manner, allowing for a better control of power loss and allows for the bridge to be able to conduct current for a longer period of time for higher power outputs.
