Fixed inductors have been used for decades in a wide range of applications. The SC511MF-2R2 is a popular fixed inductor because it offers high reliability, power efficiency, and extremely low equivalent series resistance. It is capable of handling extreme temperatures and is able to be used in a variety of applications, including power supplies and RF systems.

The SC511MF-2R2 inductor consists of a ceramic core with two copper windings that are connected in series (Figure 1). Three wires, one positive and two negative, are connected to the core. The wires exit the coil at the same angle, and are connected to either one or two external devices. The positive wire is used to supply power to the coil, while the negative wires are used to control the current flowing through the inductor.

The inductor can be used in a variety of applications because of its unique features. First, it can handle high currents and has an exceptionally high number of turns (120+), which allows for greater efficiency. Secondly, it has a very low equivalent series resistance (ESR) of 0.17 ohms. This low ESR allows the current to flow through the inductor with minimal losses. Third, the inductor is able to operate in temperatures of up to 175°C (347°F).
