SC51-1 is a precision current sensor which was developed by Stridex Systems Inc. The device can accurately measure a range of 0.1mA to 50mA in 4-20mA output and can also be used in various other applications.The application fields of SC51-1 include industrial process control, power monitoring, energy management, load measurement, lighting controls, and automotive/avionic systems. The sensor can be used in many markets such as industrial automation, automotive, HVAC, telecom, energy, and medical.The working principle of SC51-1 is based on an optocoupler, which is a device that uses optical radiation to transmit power between two different circuits in order to isolate them. The optocoupler contains an infrared LED and a phototransistor, which can accurately measure the magnitude of the current passing through the wires. The output of the device is fed to a microprocessor, which using programmed algorithms and a precision A/D converter, can accurately measure the current and display it on the device’s LCD display.The SC51-1 has a range of ±100mA and a voltage range of 0-20V.
