The SDF DF077S model, manufactured by the company Bourns, is a surface-mount version of these devices. The application field of the SDF DF077S is quite wide, as it can be used in a variety of industrial applications. It can, for example, be used to ensure that an overcurrent situation doesn’t occur in electric motors, power tools, appliances and HVAC systems. Its basic purpose is to protect these devices from a thermal overload,, and thus ensure their stable and safe operation.The working principle of the SDF DF077S is simple. In essence, it is an auto-resetting over-temperature protection. It is composed of a sealed glass capsule containing a bimetal disc. The bimetal disc engages a plunger which opens an internal contact when the specified temperature is reached. The SDF DF077S is designed to open and reset automatically when the temperature falls below the trip temperature and the circuit is restored.The SDF DF077S features a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +150°C, and is available in voltages of 10V, 25V and 40V. It has a rated current of 10A, a minimum current rating of 1A and a trip time of less than 6 seconds. Furthermore, it features anInsulation resistance of 100 M ohms, leakage current of 300 μA and a contact resistance of 20 m ohms.Overall, the SDF DF077S model represents a reliable, efficient and cost-effective solution for protecting a variety of industrial and consumer products from thermal overload.
