The arm with the positive voltage is the anode, and the arm with the negative voltage is the cathode. </p><p>When the AC power supply voltage is positive (positive voltage), the positive voltage arm and the negative voltage arm form a conduction pair across the load and obtain a forward voltage drop. At this time, the current flows from the positive voltage terminal to the negative voltage terminal, forming a forward biasing voltage drop across the anode and cathode and generating a working current. When the AC power supply voltage changes from the positive cycle to the negative cycle (negative voltage), the negative voltage arm and the positive voltage arm form a conduction pair across the load, and the direction of the working current is reversed and flows from the negative voltage terminal to the positive voltage terminal.</p><p>In this way, the AC power supply voltage is converted into a DC voltage at the output.
