The SG1525AJ-DESC DC DC switching controller is a monolithic integrated circuit with a wide range of applications and tested working principles. Application Field

Working Principle

The SG1525AJ-DESC uses pulse-by-pulse current limiting to regulate output voltage. It utilizes a voltage feedback loop and offers a wide range of response time and amplitude. The output voltage of the system is determined by a setting resistor, Rset. When the output is overloaded, the current limiter limits the output current.

The PWM control can be set up to work in either On/Off or Variable Pulse-width Outputs. In On/Off mode, current will flow and the output voltage is the Vref voltage. In Variable Pulse-width Outputs mode, the output is regulated by the duty cycle of the output pulse, adjusting the duty cycle with the reference voltage.

The SG1525AJ-DESC also offers a thermal protection feature which shuts down the output voltage when the temperature exceeds a certain level. Through the Internal Thermal Shutdown (ITS) circuit, the oscillator stops for the duration of the over-temperature conditions and when the temperature drops to normal level, the oscillator restarts the output.
