SG7805K is a linear voltage regulator integrated circuit (IC) with a positive output voltage of 5 volts, hence it is called as 5V regulator. The SG7805K is a three-terminal voltage regulator with an adjustable voltage range of 1.25V to 10 volts. This voltage regulator is widely used in computer systems, video cards, and other electronic equipment for power supply regulation and voltage control.
The SG7805K series of voltage regulators works on the principle of voltage regulation. It works by controlling the potential difference between a reference voltage and the output voltage. SG7805K is available in the TO-220 and D-Pak packages. It is usually used for applications requiring a minimum voltage dropout of 0.4 volts. The maximum output current of the SG7805K is up to 1.2A and maximum operating temperature range is 250 degrees Celsius.
