The Silicon Laboratories SI5326-C-GMR is a single-chip, frequency-selective clock generator and programmable fan-out buffer. It integrates advanced integrated circuit technology in a compact package to provide basic clock generator, PLL, and frequency synthesizer functions. It can be used to provide frequency-stable, low-jitter output of any arbitrary frequency within the range of 1 Hz to 65.5 MHz.
The SI5326-C-GMR is based on a low power, low noise architecture that eliminates the need for active components such as oscillators and divider chains. It uses a programmable and highly flexible digital-controlled oscillator (DCXO) and integrated logic to generate a wide range of frequencies with excellent frequency stability and accuracy. The SI5326-C-GMR can be programmed to generate 8 differential or 16 single-ended outputs and each output can be programmed to a different frequency.

The user has the flexibility to program up to 8 different frequencies into the device, each of which can be further divided into divisions of up to 1/256. The SI5326-C-GMR also supports frequency shifting to adjust the output frequency as needed. Frequency shifting allows the output frequency to be shifted up or down in frequency in small increments, allowing the user to access frequencies that cannot be generated with a traditional programmable clock generator.
The SI5326-C-GMR includes integrated spread spectrum capabilities that offer improved performance in noisy environments. Spread spectrum technology works by rapidly phase shifting the output frequency around the center frequency that is programmed into the device. This phase shifting reduces EMI/RFI interference and reduces the chance of interfering with nearby systems.
The SI5326-C-GMR also includes integrated power management capabilities. This allows the device to be placed in a power down mode and wakes up again when enabled. There are also programmable output power levels that can be used to save power when the device is not used.
