Clock/Timing - Application Specific
The SI5334B-B02022-GMR is a Frequency Translation Clock Generator designed to create frequencies from any reference clock up to 3500 MHz. Based on Silicon Labs\' proven third-generation DSPLL technology, the SI5334B-B02022-GMR offers enhanced jitter attenuation, frequency translation performance and excellent clock duty cycle stability. The SI5334B-B02022-GMR can produce up to 8 different clock outputs with independent control of output frequencies and duty cycle. It is available in a 32-pin 7mmx7mm QFN package with an operating temperature range of -40C to +85C.
Application Field
The SI5334B-B02022-GMR is well-suited for a variety of application fields, including networking, storage and communications. It is commonly used to help synchronize and stabilize signal paths in switches, routers, storage arrays and other systems where communication is critical. Working Principle
The SI5334B-B02022-GMR uses a highly-integrated Digital Signal Processor technology that can create a wide range of output frequencies from any reference clock between 0 and 3500 MHz. It has built-in clock jitter attenuator circuitry which eliminates the need for external components, simplifying board layout and minimizing external component cost. The SI5334B-B02022-GMR is also highly flexible, allowing the user to select the output frequencies and duty cycle. The frequency translation is accomplished through a programmable Phase Locked Loop (PLL) circuit, which takes the input reference frequency and creates output frequencies with a certain ratio. The rate at which the output frequencies changes is adjustable in small increments, allowing for very precise control of the output frequencies.
The SI5334B-B02022-GMR also features a programmable Duty Cycle Stabilizer (DCS) for each of the outputs. This allows for the outputs to have a consistent duty cycle, even with fast changing input or output frequencies. In addition, the DCS is adaptive, allowing it to adjust to changing loading conditions and temperatures without the need for additional external components.
The SI5334B-B02022-GMR is an excellent solution for applications requiring a high degree of frequency translation and output stability. Its combination of wide frequency range and low jitter performance make it ideal for any system requiring precise clock synchronization.
