The SI5334C-B01466-GM clock/timing device is designed for a variety of applications, such as providing timing and frequency references in broadcast, telecommunications, enterprise, and cloud data center networks.The SI5334C-B01466-GM evaluation board helps our customers quickly assess the capabilities of the device, as well as create their own applications. The evaluation board is about 5.4” x 3.4” and is populated with the most commonly used parts to test the SI5334C-B01466-GM device. The evaluation board contains 16 SMA connectors and one 40 pin header for the evaluation of the SI5334C-B01466-GM.

The SI5334C-B01466-GM is a multi-protocol timing chip that is engineered to provide the local timing and frequency for network applications. This device includes all the required features to meet the stringent timing and frequency requirements needed for current and next-generation networks. It supports both traditional synchronous technologies such as Synchronous Ethernet and High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC) as well as modern packet-based protocols such as NTP, PTP, and Synchronous Ethernet.

The SI5334C-B01466-GM is designed to support multiple time-coordinated applications such as synchronization, synchronization distribution, and management. This device provides a dual-redundant IEEE 1588-2002 PTP master/slave clock in a highly reliable and low-power system-on-chip solution. This device also provides the capability to generate and receive a variety of events, alarms and triggers. The hierarchical architecture of the device supports a tiered network management architecture that helps customers manage their entire network from a single point of control.

The SI5334C-B01466-GM supports multiple frequency sources and output types. These outputs include differential clock outputs, multiple low jitter outputs, and multiple timestamps for timing and frequency precision. The device supports the ability to measure the period and frequency of external reference signals and to calculate and maintain an average frequency. This device also supports dynamic adjustment of the device’s frequency and phase in response to changing frequency and phase in the reference signals.

The SI5334C-B01466-GM provides an integrated real-time clock core that supports time-stamping and time-smoothing of network messages. The time stamping capability allows the device to time-stamp events and alarms with a single time stamp with high precision. The time-smoothing feature prevents time manipulation in the event of message processing delays, ensuring that no incorrect time is sent to remote nodes.

In addition to the timing and frequency features, the SI5334C-B01466-GM supports a complete system-management suite of functions to help customers manage their network. These functions include an 802.1Q tag-aware network management interface, an embedded application processor for running multiple applications simultaneously, secure data transfer, secure configuration, and advanced diagnostics.
