The SI5338C-B01275-GMR is a highly customizable, high-performance clock generating IC designed by Silicon Labs, based on their popular Si5338 clock generator ICs. It is intended for use in applications requiring programmable frequency and phase control over a wide range of frequencies, such as multiplexing, time division multiplexing and phase-locked loop applications.
The Si5338C-B01275-GMR clock generator contains a single crystal oscillator, phase-locked loop (PLL) circuitry, and a programmable range of programmable output frequencies that can be set via software control. The Si5338C-B01275-GMR also includes an onboard power supply voltage monitor that allows for fine-tuning of the system’s output frequency based upon an external supply voltage from another power supply system.
The Si5338C-B01275\'s phase-locked loop (PLL) circuitry allows for the locking of the output clock frequency to the reference frequency. The PLL utilizes a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to generate a frequency which is compared to a reference frequency. Any difference between the two frequencies results in a voltage difference, which is applied to the VCO. As the reference frequency becomes higher or lower, the VCO adjusts its frequency in response, and the system will lock into a phase locked loop (PLL) state and the desired output frequency is produced.

It features a frequency range of 10MHz to 1GHz and can support up to 12 output channels with configurable output levels. The clock generator supports the latest industry-standard I/O protocols such as LVDS and SMPTE, a serial control port, a high-speed input port, and multiple outputs to support broadcast and communications applications. Additionally, the clock generator can provide high resolution frequency and phase adjustment.
