SI5350A-B05783-GTR

The SI5350A-B05783-GTR is a highly integrated, high performance jitter attenuator also known as a clock synthesizer or frequency synthesizer. The device combines an ultra-low jitter oscillator, an analog PLL, two Clock generators, two types of output buffers, and a one-wire or I2C programmable EEPROM interface to provide a complete clock generation and jitter attenuation solution. This device allows users to generatefrequency-agile clock signals with ultra-low phase-noise and undesired signal components.

Application Field:

The SI5350A-B05783-GTR is designed for use in applications that require low jitter, low noise, frequency-agile signals in communications systems, computing and consumer electronics. The device can be used in applications such as Ethernet switching and routing, DSL modems, cable modems and networks, jitter-reduction circuits, HDTV, video streamers, video set top boxes, digital video recorders, audio encoders and decoders, gaming systems, and microprocessors with high-speed I/O.

Working Principle:

The SI5350A-B05783-GTR operates using an analog phase-locked loop (PLL) and a crystal oscillator that is highly stable and provides low phase noise. The core of the device consists of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that is connected to the output of the PLL. The PLL continually monitors the output of the crystal oscillator and adjusts the frequency of the VCO so that it is kept close to the frequency of the crystal oscillator.The VCO can be tuned over a wide range and can generate frequencies from 1 MHz up to 250 MHz. The VCO is connected to two clock generators that each use a dividers to generate outputs with frequencies that are an exact multiple or fraction of the VCO frequency. The two clock generators can each generate up to five different output frequencies with fixed ratios that range from 2:1 to 2:128.The device also includes two output buffers that are used to reduce the jitter of the clock signals and minimize unwanted harmonic components. The two buffers each have two outputs with enable/disable control and adjustable output drive.Lastly, the SI5350A-B05783-GTR features a one-wire or I2C programmable EEPROM interface for configuring the outputs. This allows the device to be reconfigured without having to open the system’s cover and manually adjust the output configuration.
