The SI5350B-B02708-GTR is an advanced, low power, single-output clock generator and jitter attenuating clock multiplier integrated circuit from Silicon Labs. It is specially designed to reduce jitter in high-speed clock signals and generate low jitter, high-frequency clock signals from lower frequency reference inputs. The SI5350B-GTR is a versatile and cost-effective solution for clock generation, clock reconditioning, clock delay and multiplication in a broad range of applications.

The SI5350B-GTR is part of the "FlexClock" portfolio of clock generators, and comprises phase locked loop (PLL) and fractional-N frequency synthesizer technology. The IC has a maximum frequency range of 1500 MHz and can generate an output frequency that is up to 14 times higher than the input reference frequency. It also utilizes a wide-bandwidth high-performance phase-locked loop (PLL) to achieve low jitter performance up to 1500 MHz. In addition, the SI5350B-GTR has a built-in jitter attenuator that can reduce jitter in the output frequency above 200 MHz. The SI5350B-GTR can be used in both multi-loop and single-loop configurations, and supports a range of input reference sources including LVCMOS, LVDS and XO.

The SI5350B-GTR is ideal for a variety of applications including communications infrastructure, industrial automation, storage and server, aerospace and defense and medical. In particular, the low jitter clock synthesizer can be used for clock generation and jitter cleaning in high-speed communications applications such as Ethernet switches and routers, serial backplane systems and optical transceivers. Additionally, the SI5350B-GTR can be used for clock reconditioning in applications such as CMOS image sensor and display output generation.

The working principle of the SI5350B-GTR is simple. The input reference frequency is received by the chip, which then uses its internal phase-locked loop (PLL) to synthesize a higher frequency clock signal at the output. This is done by multiplying the incoming reference frequency by an integer or fractional number. The jitter of the resulting output frequency is minimized by the built-in jitter attenuator. The SI5350B-GTR also offers a wide range of input options and clock output formats, allowing the user to select the best clock format for their specific application. As a result, the SI5350B-GTR is able to generate low jitter, high-performance clock signals regardless of the clock source.
