The SI5395J-A-GM is a highly integrated monolithic clock generator and jitter attenuator designed to support a variety of applications requiring extremely low jitter and low phase noise clock signals. It is a member of the ClockBuilder Pro product family from Silicon Labs. This product offers a wide range of features that are ideal for networking, communications, and computing system applications. This includes support for a variety of standard and custom frequencies, programmable spread-spectrum outputs, and very low phase noise. The SI5395J-A-GM is ideally suited for applications that require very low jitter and low phase noise clocks.

The SI5395J-A-GM is a fully integrated clock generator and jitter attenuator that utilizes Silicon Labs’ proprietary technologies to generate low jitter outputs. It is designed to require minimal external components and offers programmable output frequencies ranging from 10 kHz to 600 MHz. The device includes an on-board voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) and jitter attenuator to ensure high-performance, low-jitter clock signals. Additionally, a programmable spread spectrum feature can be used to reduce EMI and RFI.

The SI5395J-A-GM utilizes a low-noise, low-jitter PLL and jitter-attenuating Digital Frequency-Locked Loop (DFL) to generate the output clock signals. The DFL works in conjunction with the PLL to further reduce the jitter of the clocks. The device also includes an adjustable oscillator and digital temperature compensation. The adjustable oscillator is configured from the customer GUI, allowing for simple frequency setting and flexible applications. The digital temperature compensation ensures that the clock remains stable over temperature range.

The SI5395J-A-GM supports both positive-edge and negative-edge output clocks and offers programmable output enable/disable, output drive strength, spread spectrum, and multiple clock groups for enhanced system flexibility. It is also backwards compatible with legacy clock trees and compatible with various system block designs. The SI5395J-A-GM is available in both 32- and 64-pin packages.
