The SI82394CD-IS is an isolator based on Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology. It is a high-speed, high-efficiency gate driver, designed to power gate and distribution boxes in industrial applications. In applications where safety and isolation are paramount, the SI82394CD-IS provides reliable, low-cost isolation and power delivery.

The SI82394CD-IS focuses on isolating input from output to ensure safe operation in hazardous environments. In particular, it is suitable for applications which involve transmitting current across the isolation barrier. Its GaN-on-SiC technology is tailored to provide isolation ratings up to 4.5 kV, while delivering a maximum efficiency of 92 percent. The Isolator also uses a unique, patent-pending, triple-level ground-level isolation architecture to provide robust isolation.

The SI82394CD-IS combines active and passive components to isolate the input and output, as well as to create a low-impedance path for the flow of half-bridge signals. An advanced Zener diode integrated circuit (IC) is utilized to achieve a voltage rating of 500V. Additionally, a voltage-regulator circuit stabilizes the switch node voltage, allowing for adjusted current capacity and pulse control. The Isolator uses a "gating" method of driving the gate in a half-bridge circuit, allowing for the control of up to 8 power switches in a single module.

The Isolator provides advanced fault protection with external fault-detection circuitry. In the case of a fault, the Isolator can detect the fault and shut down the circuit before a critical system failure occurs. The Isolator also features a multi-level over-current protection and under-voltage lockout, ensuring long operational life for the device.
