The SL28PCIE14ALCT clock/timing system is a state-of-the-art application specific solution for clock distribution. It is engineered to provide a high-accuracy, low-jitter and low-power solution to meet the stringent requirements of today\'s and tomorrow\'s high-end applications. This particular model was designed for PCIe applications and was designed to provide up to 14 outputs for clock distribution.
The main operational principle of the SL28PCIE14ALCT is based on the integration of two main components: the central clock generator, which is responsible for sampling and regeneration of the clock signal, and the output clock distribution module, which drives the output clocks into the different outputs. The input clock from the system is sampled by the central clock generator, which internally confers a clock stabilization function to generate a low-jitter, locked-in clock, regardless of process and temperature variations. The output clock signals are then adjusted to the different output clocks with the aid of differential multiplexers. This allows all the output clocks to be reliable and synchronized, even though they originate from the same reference clock.
