The SLA7070MPRT motor driver controllers are integrated power management ICs (PMICs) that are designed for driving brushless DC (BLDC) motors in robots, drones, and other applications. The ICs provide efficient operation and improved system performance by meeting the low voltage and high-output current requirements of various applications.

The SLA7070MPRT are single-supply, pulse width modulation (PWM) motor drivers that are optimally designed to drive small brushless DC (BLDC) motors widely used in high-volume motor applications such as drones, robots, vacuum cleaners, and other home automation applications. The ICs are available in a 14-pin MLPD package, and are designed for minimum power consumption, low EMI levels, and longer life. Speed regulation is achieved by providing a ‘regulating pin’ that monitors the rotor speed, and the four PWM output compared it to the commanded speed. The integrated two PWM input pins provide the capability to sense the position of each rotor. The IC can be used to operate the motor with both constant-damper and angular-velocity control.

In addition, the SLA7070MPRT feature a wide variety of safety protection features such as over-current protection, over-temperature protection, disable motor braking, and motor disable protection. The ICs also feature an onboard Overvoltage Lockout (OVLO) circuit which monitors the motor voltage and shuts off the power to the motor if it reaches a predetermined level. This ensures that the motor does not become overdriven, making it very reliable.
