SLC40AB-1406A is a medium-high power RF amplifier designed to meet the needs of military applications requiring high linearity and low distortion performance. It is a two-stage, linear, power amplifier. The two-stage RF amplifier consists of an RF amplifier with a working band that covers the frequency range of 1 to 10GHz. The amplifier operates in Class AB with a collector load of 50ohms. The linearity of the SLC40AB-1406A is greater than 10dB over the frequency range; the P1dB compression point is typically 12dBm, with a third-order intercept point (IP3) of +30dBm. The SLC40AB-1406A has a flat gain characteristic of +15dB over the frequency range and is capable of delivering up to 30W of RF output power.The SLC40AB-1406A can be used in a variety of applications, including cellular, WLAN, wireless base station, instrumentation, test and measurement and RF signal sources. The amplifier is also suitable for operation in pulsed applications such as radar. In addition, the SLC40AB-1406A can be used in military communications and to drive high power RF devices.The SLC40AB-1406A’s working principle is based on the concept of negative feedback. This property improves the amplifier’s linearity, stability and transient response, as well as providing an output signal that is accurate to the input signal, allowing for high quality transmission. The amplifier is designed to provide high output power, low noise and high linearity.The SLC40AB-1406A is fabricated on a high quality, low-loss dielectric substrate. The design of the amplifier ensures a low noise figure, high isolation and low distortion. The input and output ports are 50 ohm matched and the SLC40AB-1406A is capable of operating in single ended or balanced configurations. The amplifier is also designed to operate with supply voltages between 12V and 28V, making it suitable for a wide variety of power supply requirements.The SLC40AB-1406A is available in a variety of packages, including a low-profile surface mount device (SMD), or a split-style hermetic package.
