Working Principle:

The SLG59M1603V operates by pulse width modulation (PWM). Its internal high-side or low-side FETs are driven by the internal oscillator, switching between on and off states. It is protected from over-voltage and over-current using an on-chip current limit circuit and a protection circuit which is connected to its enable pin, providing self-protection. This enable pin also enables Pulse-by-Pulse Current Limiting, a feature which ensures that current limit protection is maintained throughout the switching cycle of the device.

In its low-side configuration, the SLG59M1603V is operated by a signal connected to its enable pin, switching by changing the voltage state on the enable pin. When operated in its high-side configuration, the signal is instead connected to the gate pin, switching between high and low states.
