Working Principle

The SM05T1G TVS diode is a monolithic surge protection device specifically designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from electrical transients. It is constructed using a proprietary silicon avalanche diode technology for superior electrical performance. When the applied voltage exceeds the peak pulse clamping voltage, the SM05T1G TVS diode will quickly clamp and limit the surge current. The built-in U-type Zener diode can effectively absorb the high frequency components and provide ground reference voltage.

The SM05T1G TVS diode also provides ESD protection as it can reduce the current spike energy in case of electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. The integrated low capacitance can significantly reduce the voltage droop and provide clean power to system components.
