Working Principle
The SM802111UMG utilizes a Clock Generator, PLL, and an external reference clock to accurately and repeatably generate an output frequency with competitive jitter performance. It includes an integrated high-speed 16-bit Microdiode which controls the division rate of the Feedback and Multiplier Divider. It also features an advanced digital, built-in phase/frequency detector and loop filters for excellent phase noise and high frequency stability.
The integrated PLL is designed to eliminate the need for manual calibration and allows for on-the-fly adjustment to optimize frequency synthesis. It also features an adjustable output for either direct or differential clock outputs, allowing for up to 4 outputs with each capable of generating a frequency up to 100 MHz. Additionally, there are three PLL loop band-width settings suitable for a variety of system performance requirements.
The device offers a wide range of frequency synthesis possibilities including: sine wave, triangle wave, square wave and saw tooth wave. The device also provides typical output jitter of 40 picoseconds and a maximum output frequency of 1 GHz. It can support operation over a wide temperature range of -40 to +85C.
