The SMA5J9.0C-E3/61 utilizes a silicon-avalanche diode (SAD) in a standard SMA package. The device limits the applied voltage during a transient event. When a voltage above the peak breakdown voltage (VRP) is present across the diode, it becomes conductive. This allows the current to rapidly reach a peak value that is limited by the e3\'s low dynamic resistance. As the current decreases, the device returns to its nonconductive state.The SMA5J9.0C-E3/61 is capable of blocking voltages up to 9.0V and can withstand a surge current of up to 61A. It is designed with very low capacitance, which ensures low signal distortion during surges. The device also has excellent thermal resistance, allowing for reliable operation in high temperature environments.Conclusion:
