Working Principle

This device works on a basic principal of thermionic emission. Each diode consists of two metal plates placed at a certain distance apart. This electro-static discharge causes the electrons to be attracted and collected by the other plate, forming a bridge between the two plates and causing the diode to be cut-off.

These thermionic emissions cause a current to flow in the circuit, thereby causing a disconnection between the two plates. When the transient voltage is removed, the bridge between the plates is broken, allowing the circuit to return to its normal state.
